I am an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, and self taught in various mediums. In my art I strive to always honor and respect Lakota tradition, the ancestors, and elders, while staying true to my personal style. I am fascinated with traditional Lakota designs found on museum piece parfleche artifacts and have replicated those designs on small wooden boxes. My hand painted magnetic canvases are a combination of traditional and contemporary designs. In the Lakota tradition of wasting nothing, I have recycled paper cheese boxes into small hanging art pieces. Some are contemporary and somewhat whimsical native designs and non-native subjects.
