jan richardson

I received a degree in art education from Ohio State University. I moved to Bloomington, Indiana then to Madison in 1976. My career took an unexpected turn for financial reasons, and I obtained a master's in public policy and administration from UW- Madison. I worked in the public sector for 34 years. After retiring I finally got back to my first interest, art. I work primarily in oil, but have used watercolor, graphite, charcoal, and gouache. I enjoy doing portraits, but have also done landscapes and still lifes. I have recently started exploration of my family genealogy and researching how other artists have used that as a focus.
