My name is Don Helley, I've lived in Madison over 35 years. I retired in 2020 and began taking photos soon after. I have always been interested in the odd or unusual and was attracted to storefront windows with distorted and double images. I take dozens of pictures and only process one or two, then from dozens of them I print one or two. Most pictures were taken on the isthmus or downtown of Madison, so you may recognize where I was standing to take the picture. I sincerely hope you look at them, smile and ponder over what you are looking at. These photos are all unique with various degrees of mystery, horror, fantasy, surrealism, dreams, humor and whatever else comes to mind. From ten feet away my pictures look rather normal, but as you close in on the image you begin to see all the odd things going on. I invite you to explore these images!
